Cobden Club Volume, entitled Systems of Land Tenure in Various Countries (1870), having been exhausted, the Committee of the Club now issue this new edition of the Work in a less expensive form. It is hoped by this means to satisfy more completely the demand which has arisen for the Volume, and to place it, as much as possible, within the reach of all classes. Each Essay has been revised by the original writer, with the exception of that on the Farm Land and Land Laws of the United States,- the author of which has died since the preceding editions of the Work were published. The present Volume also contains an Essay on the Law and Custom of Primogeniture, by the Hon. George C. Brodrick, which originally appeared in the Second Series (1871-1872) of the Cobden Club Essays.
