The Risala of Ibn Abi Zayd is one of the earliest written manuals on Islam. It was initially written by the author after he was requested to write a manual for children to learn the rules of Islam based on the Quran and Prophetic Sayings (Hadith). It covers all of what a Muslim needs to know in terms of the science of faith (aqida) as well as jurisprudence (fiqh).
